Legal Literacy & Community Outreach

Bring the law closer to people through simple, accessible information and direct engagement in communities.

Key programme activities

Community sessions and information meetings in municipalities and remote areas on:

  • civil registration and documentation;
  • family and child protection;
  • protection from discrimination and access to remedies;
  • rights of refugees, asylum seekers and persons with international protection;
  • rights of prisoners, ex-prisoners and probationers.
  • Production and dissemination of user-friendly materials and online tools (leaflets, guides, social media content, FAQs) that explain procedures, documents and remedies in simple language.
  • “Street law” and outreach activities implemented with interns, young lawyers and paralegals who visit communities, institutions and shelters.
  • Using data and stories from outreach to inform advocacy, law reform proposals and strategic cases.
