WHO WE ARE
Our Objectives
To ensure effective, non-discriminatory access to justice and protection of human rights for persons in vulnerable situations in Albania, through a continuum of legal services, strategic litigation, institutional reform and capacity building of duty-bearers and communities.
Improve access to quality legal aid and remedies for persons in vulnerable situations, including children, women, persons at risk of statelessness, returnees from conflict zones, prisoners and ex-prisoners, and other marginalised groups.
Strengthen the implementation of national legislation and European human-rights standards in the areas of civil registration and nationality, anti-discrimination, child protection, property rights, penitentiary and pre-trial systems.
Reinforce institutional capacities and inter-institutional coordination at central and local levels (courts, municipalities, civil status offices, social services, probation and penitentiary services, border/reception authorities).
Promote a culture of rights and accountability through legal literacy, public awareness, evidence-based advocacy and engagement with independent institutions and civil society networks.
