Training & Capacity Building

Strengthen the capacities of institutions and professionals who are on the front line of human-rights protection and access to justice.

Key Programme Activities

Design and delivery of tailored training modules and curricula for:

  • civil status offices and municipal services;
  • child protection units, social workers and social administrators;
  • judges, prosecutors, court staff and legal aid providers;
  • prison and probation staff;
  • border and reception authorities;
  • family doctors and health professionals (where relevant to protection and documentation);
  • civil society organisations and community-based groups.
  • Training-of-Trainers schemes and mentoring to ensure sustainability and replication of learning.
  • Development of practical guides, manuals, checklists and tools for day-to-day use by practitioners.
  • Support to legal aid and human-rights networks and coalitions, including joint trainings, peer exchanges and advocacy planning.
  • Internship and young professional programmes that build the next generation of human-rights lawyers, many of whom later become judges, prosecutors, attorneys or academics.
